Also very important: It’s much easier to get a player to pay for those last few levels than it is to get them to pay upfront.

Isn’t that the very problem, that it’s freemium in the first place? Especially in a storied series that was previously always pay-once.

Ghost of Tsushima has a critically acclaimed multiplayer mode!

Psychologically, this is no better. I’ve been in that “gotta put in my playtime for the day” gutter before. It was the most unhealthy thing I’ve ever done.

So you’re saying there’s a PC exclusivity window and a separate console exclusivity window?

the PC port is the FFVII Remake Intergrade version Square Enix released on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S

Last night I ran into a Youtube video saying that GTA6 is taking too long to release. That video was from 2019.

Isn’t that the entire goal of the free-the-nipple campaign?

You could make a weaker version of this argument for beauty in general. We have yet to ban hotness, however.

TBF, most animal species, including humans, tend to follow the don’t-shit-where-you-eat mantra. OTOH, many animals also follow the eat-what-you-shit mantra, so *shrug*.

I would trust neither it nor Quick Resume as a replacement for a game save, nor should anyone!

Not sure what you’re talking about. Game resume works quite well on PS5, I have yet to experience any of the issues you mention, and I’ve likely spent way more time using it than you have.

How did they come up with those numbers?  Just randomly hitting keys on the numpad?

After much consideration, Bobby Kotick has decided to not resign.

Isn’t that also video games in general? Many boomers don’t play video games today because the ones from the 70s and 80s were too simplistic to hold their attention, and they never bothered to go back and see how much that “gimmick” had evolved after 30 years.

They appear to get around it by using stock PS controllers as the base.

Big Picture Mode is meant for a gamepad, not KB/M.

By “worst trend” I mean microtransactions, not Game Pass. The base version of Infinite being free is evidence of that problem, not a counter-point. Offer the money-making portion of the game for free, genius! Maybe Microsoft should invent a term for it, something like freemiu... wait a minute!

I feel like we’re getting to the point where console manufacturers are afraid of the idea of selling classic games (Nintendo abandoning Virtual Console and Sony abandoning PS Classics). I assume it’s because they’d rather force you to keep paying to play older games.

Doesn’t Steam Big Picture mode exist entirely for couch gaming on a PC?
