Honest question: what are the “CRPG conceits”? Don’t CRPGs have their roots in D&D? And a major part of D&D is feats, so perks make sense. Did Morrowind have an equivalent of feats/perks, or are we just ignoring that aspect of CRPGs for the sake of argument?

I feel like that’s a fairly easy question to answer. Morrowind was revolutionary for its time. Fallout 4, considerably less so.

And if you watched literally any Chinese show ever, you’d be bombarded with ads for Honor of Kings, but see zero ads from foreign-owned companies.

“Imagine if something you invented was stolen from you and then marketed and sold to customers around the world. That is exactly what Team-Xecutor was doing,” says Raymond Duda of the FBI.

A lot of Soulsbornes have many of the same underpinnings as a Metroidvania. In fact, I’ve said in the past that Bloodborne has a better world layout than any actual 3D Metroidvania.

Ah, yeah! I’ve recently realized my own aversion to stress in video games. Anything with a high-risk time crunch are really difficult for me! (Even turn-based ones like in Disco Elysium!) Because of this, I find it infinitely interesting that for some people stress/anxiety actually makes a game more enjoyable for them!

Pretty much the entirety of Willow, and the creepy opening of Edward Scissorhands. To this day, I have a phobia for dusty makeshift devices.

You do realize that being open source means that even large corporations like Nintendo can use the software? If your in-house offering is garbage, then it’s only hubris preventing you from using the better, free option.

On the emulation side, Nintendo has always been a bit hit-and-miss. The Wii U version of Paper Mario is noticeably worse than the Wii version.

My question has always been why can’t they just bring back the Virtual Console? No matter how you spin it, Nintendo is just trying to make you pay for something you’ve bought twice already.

Let’s put it this way... This was Horizon Forbidden West 16 months before its planned release date:

And anybody who played Driver!

Did you watch the first embedded twitter video? Guy is literally stuck in water and can’t get out. There’s no “forcing to explore” there, quite the opposite.

I mean, the stock market is also bullshit, so... yes?

What is NFT? It’s a meaningless receipt that you paid somebody for something, but there is no legal connection between that something and your money (in other words, no proof of ownership, no exchange of intellectual property).

That’s always the rub, isn’t it? Either you can have a very convenient proprietary solution with limited and pricey options, or you can have an open solution with tons of options but it’s less convenient.

What’s the process for adding a 2TB drive?

Also note that you said two Switches. A one-per-family console is outselling a one-per-player console.

This is the correct take. If supply was outstripping demand, then scalpers wouldn’t be able to sell, thus eliminating scalping. High scalping margins therefore guarantees that supply is not meeting demand.

I’d say yes and no. There was a stigma against Apple computers in the US until Apple rebranded itself. So I don’t think it’s fair to say “Microsoft tried and failed, there’s nothing they could have done.”
