It’s “tint” strip (see one way mirror) stuck on a clear plastic panel on the lift gate interior. Had a piece of wayward cargo find it’s way outside expensively once. Never again.

I put a strip of plexiglas up between the rear window and the interior of the rear hatch. Lesson learned after a bit of “cargo” found its way through the rear glass from inside. 

I got a strip of holographic mirrored tint that flares up when assholes behind me in a lifted truck or idiots running with the high beams are on. Quite fun watching them cycle through the lights to get it to stop reflecting in their face. 

Get the ecoboost AWD version. 4 wheel burnouts are a few factors more impressive.
