Interstellar is only ostensibly a hard SciFi movie. But the true theme of the movie isn’t physics, black holes, worm holes, and other assorted holes, but instead it’s about love being as strong of a force as gravity.

This. Also, Peyton Reed wasn’t boasting in every interview about its authenticity.
Others have provided good answers, but here’s my summary:
The big difference between Ant-Man and Interstellar is that Ant-Man makes no attempt to pretend that their science isn’t scientifically accurate, so I won’t exactly question how the Pym Particles nor the Quantum Realm (Which I am personally convinced is the Microverse). Interstellar, on the other hand tries to be a…
Was Star Trek: First Contact really the best Star Trek movie?
a case can be made that it is the best ST:TNG movie...
Man, I really like First Contact, but Red Letter Media makes a strong case as to how Picard acts wildly out of character given his behavior in TNG post-Best of Both Worlds. Think about how he treats Hugh for example.
Also I really really don’t like the Borg Queen.
Its actually gravity that overcomes space and time. It is a tool used by those motivated by love. Trying to think in species terms, it is hard to motivate people but we have always perpetuated ourselves by taking care of those closest to us.
I can honestly say you are the first person I’ve heard, in person or online, who says that season 5 is the best one yet.
I’m not talking about the characters, I’m talking about as the reader. If I don’t have any hope that a world is anything other than horrible things happening to people, then I am no longer vested in that world. Frankly, it’s unrealistic.
As I’ve said before, this is where both the show and books have lost me. There’s no hope, which means I don’t give a single shit about any of the characters, which means I don’t care what happens and I’ll go watch/read something else.
Love does not transcend time and space. The movie would have been much better if the protagonist just was spaghettified the moment he entered the black hole. It’s not that I don’t get the movie, it’s just really dumb.
The scientists in this movie were genus!
It never occurred to me this may go the way of Lost but that prospect is a little worrying. This show is wanting us to wait season after season, year after year with the promise that the white walker stuff will pay off—that all the moving parts will come together to form something satisfying...and if that never…
But the rape of Sansa is an effect of the showrunners consolidating the stories of multiple characters into a few so there aren’t quite so many to keep track of. There are a LOT more characters in the book, and one of the characters who got cut out of the show is the one who Sansa took the place of for this scene.
I’m sure I’m going to get shouted down about this, but last night was the first time when I watched Game of Thrones and said “Ok, that’s too far for me.”. I realized at some point that while it’s fun to have your heart ripped out sometimes (i.e. The Red Wedding), the rape of Sansa put me over the limit on what I call…
Sigh.
*yawn*
When it’s been edited into something the director isn’t happy with. First cut of Blade Runner? Incomplete product. First cut of Touch of Evil? Incomplete product. That version of Margaret that lost over half an hour and a whole subplot? Incomplete product.
No, no, no, NO! GODDAMMIT, NO!
