I hate this new trend of taking our heroes down a notch. I feel it's a nasty side effect of how cynical we've become and I can't help but feel it will only serve to continue to whittle away our sense of wonder and our ability to appreciate fun and fantastic ideas.

You can play by yourself online, but you're still online. Blizzard wants to make sure that if you get some new weapon or acquire free levels that Blizzard is getting a piece of that transaction and that you didn't just install a mod so you could have fun, some other such nonsense.

I love how there is this argument of how the game is "intended" to be played and the similarities that the people who agree or disagree with it often share.

Always online means always banned! Don worry, just create an alternate [battle.net] account and purchase a new version of the game so you can get a brand new serial key and you're good to go!

See, it's strange because I really dislike shows that remind me how messed up today's world is. I prefer escapist fantasies that have little basis in reality or that speak to more broad and general problems with out running around shouting "OH SHIT NINE ELEVEN! ZOMBIE APOCALYPSE! Yes! Flutterwonder! My favorite MLP fan song!

Yes, but isn't it a shame that I'm forced to retreat to a predominantly Japanese game line up because the game industry of my own country refuses to make anything other than shooters and sports games? I'd love my rants to not sound like I'm bashing the US industry and brown nosing the Japanese market but the US

Not really. It's more "Thanks to everyone's constant aversion to games outside of the 5 big titles we get every year we can look forward to less and less verity in games."

Because it's cool.

The Unicorn Gundam was the first thing I thought of when I saw it!

LOL that's rich.

That's often the problem I have with future predictions. Optimism is all well and good but I think people forget the the capacity for advisement and the growing ability to spread enjoyment over a larger and more diverse group of demographics seldom leads to either happening. No, the human factor will see that any and

In 20 years we shall totally abolish the need for verity in games. Only 3 games will be released each year: Call of Duty, Forza and Madden. Each game will be carefully designed to appeal to every person on the planet.

Space dinosaurs are awesome. Captain Raptor is one of the most amazing children's books I've had the pleasure of reading in my adult life.

Does Microsoft not do maintenance, or do they just have a better system in place for doing it while keeping the system running?
