2011 LTZ owner - and you are spot on. The factory tonneau covers and side storage that doesn’t inhibit bed space was icing on the cake. I think the majority of hate that these trucks get is by people who have no idea how versatile they are.

As an Avalanche owner who uses his truck for work, this is a massive missed opportunity. I like taking out the rear glass in the summer, but I take the midgate down at least twice a week to haul.
There are a ton of Avy fans, myself included, that would have loved to have seen this feature make a comeback in a modern
