I’m fairly convinced that Disney is the real life Skynet and their terminator army will be fashioned to resemble Mickey Mouse and we’ll never see it coming.

Really wish we were getting a villain on this ride. Will there be any danger?? Are we just picking up grocery items?

Also that the process of creating Spock’s genome took several years of cutting-edge technology (which raises the question of why Kirk and McCoy wouldn’t know that he was the first hybrid test tube baby and son of a prominent ambassador, but whatevs).

Why would this make them able to interbreed? Humans cannot interbreed with other apes from Earth, a much closer species than anything that could have been seeded on another planet and left to grow.

For the first time in a long time I actually enjoyed an episode of Discovery.  It didn’t feel like a chore to watch.  The characters all had something to do.  And the action was on point.  The real question is, “Will they stick the landing?”

Never really a fan of her whole Progenitors bit. Always seemed like a lazy band-aid to excuse the budgets for aliens. (Animation always works better for fantastical things, this is one reason why Lower Decks is so good)

COME TO QUARKS AND HAVE FUN!

Right but that was because of a few reasons

1) NO ONE wanted to buy the s fest that was tng s1 and half of s2 even with the remaster

2) The blu rays released the same time streaming was picking up.

3) Outside of cinephiles and hardcore trek fans no one cared about the better looking visuals because 1080 tvs were still in

DS9 was a great show in the cannon of Trek shows and films. As I recall it dragged a bit before it hit it’s final act in the last two seasons which really brought home the “intergalactic” importance of the station and Starfleet’s presence there.

To my mind, one of the finest moments of DS9 (a show with many, many fine moments amongst the best of the franchise) is the end of Call to Arms when Starfleet abandons the station. Sisko stands on the Promenade and gives this little speech:

It wasn’t?

He used to claim Tesla’s mission was to save the planet though, so the climate denial is some relatively new shit. Has he actually outright denied climate change though? I’ve not seen any such quotes, would be interesting to see him go full bore denial.

Hot take:

I’ve always loved the two-storey decapitation lawnmower, and hoped it would turn up again in another project, any project. Seems like the kind of thing Toki and Murderface would drive around on just to go to the store.

I wouldn’t say Winter Soldier pigeonholed them, I’d blame Civil War more.

I hate that in current events, Project Insight essentially exists in real life and is being used right now.

It’s also deeply subversive. All the “wholesome” all-American dudes are assholes who quickly become blob fodder. The religious guy everyone sees as a pillar of the community turns out to be a nut. The blob itself is not what it appears to be.

Heck yea!

I don’t want Doom till they are sure they can pull him off. Galactus is fine as the opening villain, I suspect it will be part of the reason the FF haven’t been around the MCU.

Damn, you know you must be really far off the mark is a Texas republican is calling out your bullshit!
