No luck, but it was very enjoyable confirming it. Truly an episode for our time (as in right now.)

This probably wasn’t the NBS just giving each other COVID-19. Sun Valley has become Idaho’s epicenter because of all the ski season traffic from Seattle, Los Angeles, and other cities. Coronavirus was already spreading into the US in January and February, so it’s just as likely the NSB attendees picked it up there.
Does anyone remember this scene? For some reason Skwisgaar and Toki are talking about presidential elections. The exchange was like
The review and comments on io9 are more positive and upbeat.
I have so many questions. How did the relationship between a high school student and a man his age begin? Was he one of her father’s friends? A school teacher who told her she was particularly gifted and gave her special attention?
There is also his 96 minute confession “Manhattan.” But it’s in black and white with lots of Gershwin, which makes a man in his 40's fucking a teenager just fine.
One reason is that a lot of “fashionable” men’s underwear like MeUndies and 2Xist is made without a fly. It’s considered extraneous, who needs access when you can just pull your pants down? And reading review comments and reddits apparently some grown men consider the idea of using an underwear fly outrageous and weird…
A common thread of Harvey Weinstein, Bill Cosby, and Jeffrey Epstein is that they were abandoned by their powerful friends. No one had any reason to go to bat for them. Roy Moore still has the backing of the Republican party and Brett Kavanaugh will have all of these monsters’ backs for decades to come.
The Blues Brothers deserves a bigger mention. One of the most expensive comedies ever made. R&B legends in their prime. A loving yet massively destructive portrait of old Chicago. Classic set piece after classic set piece with the confidence to play the comedy straight. A glorious farewell shot of 70's pre-blockbuster…
An obscure one I enjoy a lot is Electric Apricot’s “Hey Are You Going To Burning Man?” They only made a couple complete songs for the soundtrack but they gleefully nail every jam band guilty habit. The full version of this song is seven insufferable minutes long for all the right reasons.
Any of the underrated songs from the criminally underrated Walk Hard. The soundtrack has even more and it’s hugely listenable. Though honestly these area all REAL songs even if they’re by fictional artists.
It would only be a fake song if it was incomplete, or known by reference only, so that you wished you could hear the whole thing. Like in-story movies seen only in clips and trailers a la Tropic Thunder.
As a former 70's kid with straight blond hair I can assure you that awful broom-head bowl cut was the goddamned fashion. Adam Rich on Eight Is Enough. Cousin Oliver. Ricky Schroeder. Not-yet-acting Leo DiCaprio. My parents kept framed photos of me with this abomination, which I demanded at the time, long after we all…
I’ll always have a soft spot for Michael Jordan in 1991 because it was my first time seeing Stuart Smalley and the character was perfect with Jordan as his game and good hearted opposite. The mirror scene escalates beautifully as Franken feeds him more ridiculous lines and gets him perilously close to breaking.…
The Far From Home post credits showed Nick Fury on some kind of space station with a Skrull crew, and we’ve seen set photos of Monica Rambeau with a SWORD badge. So it’s pretty clear we’re getting ever more space invaders and cosmic adventures.
Russians perfected this in 2016.
So began 30 years of consistently rewarded obsession. I’d heard TMBG on Dr Demento since at least 1988 but Flood was like a point blank firework.
