For about two years I worked Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. Not working more than two days in a row was pretty awesome.

I’ve been known to do the same thing, but I consider it a public service, not a jerk behavior.

As a former mental health professional (and current if you count teachers!) I am fully aware that many of these behaviors are learned via some form of dysfunction in early life and those patterns can take a great deal of work, sometimes through therapy, to rewrite.
