I died of smallpox, why should kids these days get vaccines so they don’t have to die of smallpox?!

sad old men mope around and kill people”

Not really a meet cute, because it involved OkCupid and obviously wasn’t some beautiful moment of serendipity, but it really was a great date. So great that a random older gentleman at the bar came up to us and said “listen, my friends and I are talking and we’re worried one of you is going to get deep vein thrombosis

There was a short-lived lesbian-centered sitcom like a decade ago called Exes and Ohs that had a couple named Chris and Kris that were eerily similar. Like matching fleece vests similar.

I think both men and women with a little padding and dramatic noses are smoking hot but I somehow hate my own tummy and big nose. I feel you.

My opinion of the Green Party has fallen so, so far since my teen/college years. At this point I outright hate them. They don’t put up candidates in local races, where they’d have a chance to win and get things done, they just grandstand in the big ticket races for, I dunno, attention? It’s not like other people

You’re correct that “submit certification” is more accurate than “apply.” I didn’t want to do too much of a deep dive into PSLF if this person wasn’t even in a public service job.

I don’t think Panera cares that much about whether or not people know their food is frozen. The issue leading to the firing, I’m sure, was about at least one, if not two broken policies. It could simply be that employees are not allowed to have phones in the food prep area because they’re a bacteria hotbed. It could

What type of employment are you in? If it’s any kind of public service, you could take a shot at Public Service Loan Forgiveness. PSLF takes 10 years and the forgiven amount is not taxed, but it’s also hard to get approved and the program itself is in jeopardy because it’s expensive and the current administration

If you read the full text of her post she describes juggling numerous side hustles in addition to her full time job, having as many as three different jobs at a time.

A lot of women artists I’ve known were only able to afford their careers because they had spouses who brought in steady income. What is more creatively stifling: a relationship or a day job?

I though Depp first as well, but the fact that she says “audition” specifically and doesn’t add that she went on to appear with said actor in a film, I don’t think looking at her credits is much help.

AND HE WENT ON TO FINISH HIS DAMN SPEECH.

For about two years I worked Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday, Sunday. Not working more than two days in a row was pretty awesome.

A good teacher would not use 100 minutes to lecture. Very, very few people, especially children, learn by just listening and the teaching standards are starting to reflect that. Best practices these days suggest the teacher stand up and talk at kids for no more than 10 minutes or so depending on the subject. The rest

I’ve been known to do the same thing, but I consider it a public service, not a jerk behavior.

As a former mental health professional (and current if you count teachers!) I am fully aware that many of these behaviors are learned via some form of dysfunction in early life and those patterns can take a great deal of work, sometimes through therapy, to rewrite.

A lot of decently sized liquor stores sell mini bottles like you’d get on an airplane. Usually not the highest quality wines, but perfectly fine for cooking. Barefoot is a decently respectable wine for the price and you can find it in mini bottles.

Spotify has introduced me to a ton of lesser known and up-and-coming artists that I have now paid money to see, sometimes more than once. I love music but I’m too adult and busy to spend hours reading music forums like I did when I was younger.

You forgot to mention that they’re probably going literally 40 mph over the speed limit while pulling this move.
