I grew up with a silver 3.0CSL that BMW gave my dad. He replaced the gearbox with an Alpina 5-speed and it was a wonderful, special, magical car that we never should have sold.

I remember the Audi V8 had different speakers depending on if you had leather or cloth interior. Pretty fantastic sound system for its day!
It took until 2014 with the Porsche 991 Turbo and 918 for rear wheel steering to really work the way it could/should.
It has a 100 liter fuel tank (26.4 gallons) so 8 minutes at top speed of ~254mph means you are going 4.2 miles per minute and 33.8 miles in total before you run out of gas. That’s just less than 1.3mpg.
Except that one has an Italian heart.
I’d go with an Mercedes S63. Understated (somewhat), comfortable, fast, looks expensive and has a perfume scenter in the glovebox that you can demonstrate to Brooke/Jenny/Tamara etc from the backseat.

Right, and the 918 wasn’t the faster Weissach one and is running on much less sticky tires. Put the same tires on both and actually use the track focused 918 and see how much more difference there is.
