I think reading older books helps with the vocabulary. I’ve always thought that PG Wodehouse helped me with words and how to use them. He uses the language masterfully.

Read some older books where there are words not used much these days or read some PG Wodehouse. Wodehouse uses the English language masterfully and is quite funny. I was a history major so reading dusty tomes came with the territory.
