I have great hope for the ORION program, but am sorely disheartened by the expansive timeline of this project. I think manned landing on mars within the next few years could provide a massive boost to the popularity and publicity of NASA's manned space programs.

I'm strongly considering creating a twitter account just to respond to this. There is nothing more I would like to see realized then the continuation and expansion of manned spaceflight.

I think the problem that quite a few people touched on is that in most cases, no matter what you tell them they will usually just buy whatever they want.
