All I've heard so far, is they tried to "thread the needle" and didn't make it. That would fit with what you heard.

I need to go down and see the new truck, I haven't checked out their ride since they moved from the Unlimited Baja class to Full Stock.
Yes, but I have a Class 9. Class 5 eventually.
We worked Road Crossing #2 at the Mint this year. Always excited to see a Class 11 go by.
You're both wrong. Class 9 is where it is at.
One of them needs to be in this livery for at least one race.
If you're going to buy coilovers for a Baja, buy some real ones not those. Those are usually junk.
Run RallyCross instead! Tall vehicles are allowed for that.
Laptop on the treadmill and whip up a game of Civ V.
Not only that, I can lock my tools in the front and leave the back open. Don't have to carry my tools in the cab any more where they can be seen.
Remind me never to take my Jeep to Ohio, its got more places to stash things than I know what to do with.
Nothing particularly unsafe about it, I just have to drive more careful.
My 2000 TJ has Airbags, no ABS though.
http://www.blackboxlogistics.com/ is having a sale (and free shipping) on their lights. I have a set on my Jeep, they're pretty awesome.
If they haven't done it yet, I can't imagine they'd start now. There's already close to 40 off road races in the states (not counting the Motorcycle races).
As far as I know, no race in the states has ever been booby trapped. At least none that I have raced/worked.
It will never happen for three reasons. Dust, Speed, and Safety.
With the way the BLM handles us, they'll never move the 1000 to the states. There are already long races in the states, The Mint 400, Vegas to Reno, Parker 400, USA 500, and they get more and more difficult to put on every year. Hell, sometimes I have a hard time getting the course to run a 200 mile race. If they move…
Followed by a full fendered Beetle, beeping it's horn at you as it puts along through the course.
I'm personally fond of this one.
