I think Gawker has great commenters but on that catcalling thread yesterday it was kind of amazing how many people I recognize as intelligent, reasonable guys are totally clueless about what it's like to be a woman. I still like them but it was kind of like, "Damn, a lot of you dudes have no idea."

It's weird- sometimes gawker dudebros are prevalent in the comments, and sometimes there are remarkably same voices. It varies.

One of my closest friends from undergrad is a a Saudi. His mother and sister were both teachers and he had to wake up each day, extra early, to drive them across their city to work. He completely did not see the point, and it inconvenienced everyone in the family.
