Oh we aren't going to show the best celeb family picture? Fine, I'll do it

You're putting in a valiant effort, but I think it is wasted here.
And then someone opened the door and brought them to the black.
Dude I was so scared that you were actually going to do it
No one wants your stupid monogrammed towel. Where is my fucking monogramed thermos!?
I think that leaving your daughter in a situation where the potential for her to get raped by a predator is probably the wrong call. He's basically saying that he won't bother to clean up his act long enough to make sure his daughter is in a safe environment.
Great parents can still have shitty kids despite their best efforts. And she seems to have been a good influence for the older daughter. She's not perfect, I'm sure, but she's a damn sight better than a mother who would date her own daughter's rapist.
Finally, an apparently sane, stable adult turns up in this mess. Please God let there be no skeletons in this woman's closet....
She may or may not have been a shitty parent, but you can be the best parent in the world and still have a screwed up kid, because culture, community, and possibly genetics play a part in who someone becomes. She also seems to have raised Anna to be strong enough to call June on her crap.
I'm pretty sure that the media scrutiny here is the only thing that is/might be keeping this guy from preying on other members of the family. If they didn't have a TV show, chances are he would've already acted again (if, obviously, he hasn't already).
I dunno. Employees need a safe working environment; I should expect my employer would do whatever it takes so I'm not raped at my office and act accordingly when it does happen.
You can argue maybe it's not their responsibility to protect every aspect of their students' lives, but it sure as hell is their responsibility to take appropriate action after a crime is committed. And if there were appropriate repercussions for crimes, that in turn would help protect their students by making people…
If there was a pattern of sexual assaults in the previous years and they failed to address it in a meaningful way (an comedy skit and telling women to keep an eye on their drinks doesn't cut it, obviously) I think they're somewhat responsible. Women are paying them good money to go there, and they are not being…
I think your point is somewhat valid. But, a university is required to enforce the law. And I think here the point is that the university knew illegal activities were taking place, enough so to warn people about said activities, but did nothing to prevent the activities. It's like saying that the university knows…
This is an important question that needs to be answered, and I'm sure there are people with great ideas or experiences that could speak to some possible solutions. But as long as most colleges keep shirking responsibility and refusing to even engage the conversation, it's unlikely we'll get any solutions soon. That's…
Sounds like they followed the model used by the Roman Catholic Church, also referred to as "the hot potato method"
"Robert Roe, the student accused of raping Doe, was ultimately found responsible for the crime in an on-campus disciplinary hearing and expelled. But the school changed his records to state he had "voluntarily withdrawn" in order to "assist him in seeking further studies."
I think Cracked put it well: "Police are warning parents that criminals are planning to hand out pot-laced candy on Halloween, because if there's one thing people love to do with their pot, it's give it away for free in a manner that will immediately attract law enforcement to their homes."
What was that old argument that stupid and terrible DARE tried to scare kids with? That drug dealers will give you a free "sample" to get you hooked and addicted? Yeah right. Drug dealers don't give away free product.
Good for Queen Latifah and good for those women. Hopefully they get closure.
