That's what the escalating boundary-testing is for - to find out when they can get away with their predatory shit.

I don't think the head crotch thing is about tricking you into liking them or anything like that. I think it is just a form of boundary checking. As in, they figure that if you don't put up a fight when they do it, then maybe you won't put up a fight later when they do something worse.

Don't you think that the nature of the joke and who is making it makes a difference? It was a joke at her expense, there's no reason why she should be expected to laugh at it.

Jokes aren't a justification for anything. Sometimes people laugh at cruel and awful things, and that laughter just makes it worse, not better.

There's no pendulum here - both breast and bottle feeders are getting slammed with judgement.

Judging by the texture on the wall behind her, she is in one of the congregation areas outside the theater. This was probably taken before or after the actual ceremony.

In what sort of places are the polling locations there? Here in Australia they are mostly at schools and churches and there are plenty of them (which they need to be given that voting is compulsory). I just checked and there are three within walking distance of my house.

It's not like they're following some sort of twisted honor code. They're just doing whatever they want, and then finding a way to justify it after the fact. No matter what type of logical or moral argument you try to make, they will continue to do what they want.

I'm guessing that the girls are considered lost if they have been sold-off as slaves to individual fighters because that would make it near impossible to find them and secure a release, not because the 'marriages' are considered legitimate. If they had been kept in a group as prisoners, that would indicate an

I love watching/reading about history that is focused on women. Most of the mainstream, non academic content ignores the lives of women. I don't know what it's like in the academic history world.

Ethically* companies are obliged to chase the best outcome for their shareholders with no regard for morals, society or the economy. Which is why the system is so damned toxic.

I wonder if the parents really did grieve less for infants back then as we are told, or if that is just how society expected them to act. I don't think it would be easier just because it was more common.

Does it mean that if you had a big or sickly family you would end up in mourning more often than not?

I'm not even sure why she should be made to feel shame for trying to act older than she is. It's normal for kids to try to do that. For sure her parents need to put a stop to it because it is dangerous, but it doesn't make her a bad kid.
