I’m willing to cut Prince Philip from Sleeping Beauty some slack, as he knew that the kiss was the only way to break the curse. In that context, I consider it similar to rescue breathing in CPR. The Prince in Snow White, however... yeah, as far as he knew, he was just kissing a corpse ‘cause he thought she was pretty.

hell, lets take it a step further. why are there cartoons at all???

Damn, looking at those just make you think how creepy it is of the princes just going up to an unconscious woman and planting one on her...

I mean, Disney pretty famously has had kissing in their animated movies for quite literally as long as they’ve been making animated movies. Hell, no fewer than five of their movies include kisses as crucial plot elements. One of them even had a whole song called “Kiss the Girl.” Have you... not watched a lot of

you’re right let’s cancel every cartoon with kissing. no more snow white, tangled, frozen, how to train your dragon, futurama, simpsons, spirited away, or anything else that shows a basic expression of human interaction. how dare kiss??

...uh, because people kiss a fair bit in real life, and this story features people? WTF?

Disney caters to both sides and walks the line that makes them the most money...

Not being the best at something doesn’t automatically make you the worst at it.

Sure. But I never said they were the worst. I just said they’ve been absolutely terrible at it.

It gets worse every day. They banned the “war bonnets” but allowed this cheer team to chant “scalp ‘em” during their peformance at Magic Kingdom.

No one has been surprised about how absolutely terrible Disney has been about representation. They only JUST started getting actually better about racial representation, because of the thinly veiled racism of the family values crowd. It’s no surprise they’ve been shy of queer representation (which is, of course,

tbf the Russian propaganda machine is pushing the talking point hard via astroturf campaigns. They literally are “using said racism as a shield against criticism”.

The ending to ME3 was FINE. Not necessarily great, but it was fine. It was the REST of the story of ME3 that was the problem. In fact, the more people kvetch about the ending the more convinced I become that they’re distracting everyone from the real problem, which is the rest of the story.

Eh, this is what I’ve come to expect from games journalists these days. I mean, perish the thought that someone calls out Russia’s war crimes without the old “But-but-but what about what the US has done in the past?”

Holy crap, can you please not feed into the whataboutism? At least not yet?

The Nausicaa Manga he wrote while the movie was getting funded is fantastic!  I honestly love it more than the movie.

Great!
