“Relativistic mass” (which is kind of a deprecated idea these days) doesn’t have anything to do with the Higgs mechanism, IIRC.

It’s the writer’s job to suspend the reader’s disbelief, not the other way around.

IIRC there’s no evidence that spacetime itself is quantized.  Quantum gravity is something folks are still busily trying to work out, though.

When talking about the ‘size’ of a black hole, that’s generally in reference to the size of its event horizon, which is proportional to its mass. Conserved properties (like charge or spin) are, IIRC, tied up in the warped spacetime around the black hole; what’s going on inside the horizon is effectively meaningless

That doesn’t look anything like Elsweyr. >:(

I desperately want “warm fuzzy” to become the official classification for this type of object.

You realize that you can argue that any observation of any thing by any means is “indirect”, depending on how you choose to define “indirect”, right?

The reason this is a popular theory for what’s going on is because all of the observations indicate something that behaves exactly like matter. Dark matter is a simpler and more elegant answer than is adding a bunch of ad-hoc special-case exceptions to one of the most rigorously-tested theories in existence. And it

Chilver (a female lamb) rhymes with silver. :)

The simple answer is “not enough mass”. For any given amount of mass there is a threshold density beyond which it falls inside its own Schwarzschild radius (ie. forms a black hole), but that threshold density is itself mass-dependant, inversely so. The higher the mass, the lower the density required to form a black

Must’ve belonged to the elven diplomat.

There’s no ‘transmission time’ for entanglement. It isn’t a signal being sent or anything like that; the property being measured on the particles is correlated, such that if one is measured to have it one way, the other would be measured to have the opposite.

Or the weird behaviour of stacked polarizing films.

Note that he isn’t charged with any sort of possession violations, so he was likely (somehow) in legal possession.

Shouldn’t that imply that one (magic-fueled) punch from He-man would chunky-salsa Supes like it would a normal person? XD

IIRC the guy has a prior, shot at someone in a road rage incident. Somehow still allowed to have a firearm.

If an autonomous tractor is running people over, that’s a fault in its design or manufacture; of course you’d go after the manufacturer for that?

If nothing else, they’ll know when your rocket explodes in a nuclear detonation. :)
