David Cross has a bit in his stand-up performance (on Netflix now) where he says he wants to gather all the religious leaders and lock them in a room for five days. He thinks they’ll start to shed an emphasis on things that divide them when they realize how much they have in common. Like child rape.
There was an NPR story about this earlier in the week (someone linked to it way upstream... here it is). It was a cry for help by the department for more resources to deal with stuff like this.
