According to other reports, the police were waiting for instruction from the on-scene commander, who is clearly an enormous fuck-up. It seems that the only reason that they eventually did go in was because they collectively decided not to listen to him.

Elizabeth, you should probably mention that UL isn’t the only one who can perform this testing. There are several Nationally Recognized Testing Labs(NRTL) that perform the same service as UL. ETL is an example of one.

UL is a private company, so this article basically reads like an ad for UL.
While I agree with the

I’ve said it before, but I would love to see some organization be created to buy assault rifles for people. Really lean in to the whole “guns make communities safer” argument. Then try to go find Republican politicians who are willing to sign up for fundraising for that organization.

Wait, y’all by shoes based on how they look?

Little people are weird.
I am typically just impressed if a store has any shoes in my size(size 16)

Laurie is wrong.
In 21 states, employers are literally not allowed to ask you about pay history. So why the hell shouldn’t you lie?

Out of all of the live-action depictions of Sandman’s Lucifer, this isn’t my favorite.

I’ll give you my favorite.

“You get 1 point for every X you see”
Sometimes it is trail markers. Sometimes it is birds. Sometimes, it is just trees. The points can be whatever value it takes to motivate. I’ve raised the value to 100 points for a bird.

Someone isn’t a parent

You feel that this is an appropriate response to a mother defending her offspring? This attempt at humor is actually rather disturbing. And even more disturbing if it’s even partly serious.

I’d think a very quick and aggressive snap kick to the head would also deter it. Like kicking a field goal, but with the goose head as the football.

Step 1: Grab goose by neck, directly behind head. Act deliberatively, like you would to grab a crayfish or a frog

The benefit of emailing your books is that you get to keep them on Whispersync. Basically, your book syncs between devices

.....how exactly are you applying your sunscreen?

I agree with a lot of what you are saying, but Twitter’s always been a micro-blogging platform. Calling it social media is really a joke.

I honestly hadn’t read any of this on social media.

Mobi and epub are essentially the same. Thats why it really doesn’t matter. It seems like Kindle only required .mobi to make it slightly inconvenient for people.

New Kindle formats aren’t open enough to allow people to build converters. Mobi was open enough(based on epub) so that people could do it. Since Kindle is

That is just false

You’ve always needed to send .mobi files to kindle(or pdf/doc/rtf/txt)
Heck, I just sent an epub to my kindle via email and it still doesn’t work.
I just got the following message

If you upload books via email, they are on whispersync. This means that your page location is updated between kindle readers and the kindle app on phone/tablet.

This is really useful if you switch back and forth between reading a book on your reader and reading it on your phone.
