I think it is important for people to understand that combustion engines are only converting ~20% of the total thermal energy into usable energy.

Good thing there are quite a few revolutionary battery technologies on the horizon like cheap rechargeable alkaline (nearly identical energy density at a fraction of the cost of lithium ion) and true lithium polymer (nearly double the density and none of the explodyness). Sure, they won’t be ready for this…
As an aside, I would love to see the array of SLAs you would link up for this facility. Remember, lead-acid can’t be discharged 90% like a lithium. A discharge depth of 90% gets you a life of 1.5 years.
So, I am just picturing this MASSIVE battery room with hydrogen detectors(SLAs vent hydrogen). They are also a lot…
Solar City gave me a 20 year warranty. Does that mean they expect it to fail in 21-25 years? Maybe.
That video literally demonstrates technology that is 50 years old.
We good? I used terminology from IEEE 1562.
I hope you find that acceptable. I am a little tired today, so I couldn’t connect the dots RIGHT AWAY.
Sorry, I couldn’t remember right away. I am fairly busy. Here is a handy-dandy conversion chart.
Oh wait, I remember why I called it “Sun Hours”
From IEEE 1562:
Anyway, you’re an idiot, try to understand links before you post them as evidence. You’ll save some internet face.
This statement undercuts your whole argument. Is the ROI on solar currently very long? Yes. But you will still get a return on your investment.
LMAO.
Tell me how many PV facilities you have designed/commissioned/installed.
4-5 hours a day?
Better call Las Vegas - it’s totally solar powered. Bunch of hippies eh?
Is it not efficient enough to replace the batteries for hydrogen fuel cells? Instead of using solar power to charge batteries can’t they use it to create hydrogen that gets used to power generators. Surely it’s cheaper to create storage for hydrogen then a humongous battery!... Right?
Layman: whuh?!?
For a microgrid installation, most of the time it is grid-tied and they are using the PV to shave demand. Sure, the PV system might not be net zero and in a true disaster scenario when the hospital is islanded it’ll be burning diesel as well. It doesn’t mean you can’t make the numbers work.
You know nothing about solar.
Fun Fact: projects like the one in Puerto Rico are not cost-effective.
They will never pay for themselves. While they are neat and all, the batteries are a huge expense that just isn’t justified.
The Math for a microgrid
It isn’t that solar is bad, it is that solar only works, on average, for about 4-5 hours per day in…
I just want a bag with a place for my Bose QC35s. Everything else is a gimmick

LMAO. You obviously misunderstand the cultural milieu which makes “bless you” a big deal. It isn’t just a social convention. It is important because it is seen as a “religious” social convention.
So, if I said: “Praise be to Jupiter” after your “Bless you”, would you be offended?
