Exactly. It’s not an argument, it’s a weak excuse. Whenever folks don’t want to stop doing something (or be blamed for continuing to do something), they try to use a twisted version of history to convince people that it isn’t wrong.

This is a great list.  I wish they’d started with 8 through 10, followed by 1 and the rest.  A program for children is important for the future, but we’ve got a lot of adults out there who need help now.

I’m near Philly, and two new Wawas opened in my neighborhood (1 mile apart) in the past year. This morning I read another new one will open by the end of this year. With roads to the north, south, and west all jammed with people heading to a Wawa, walking is probably the best way to get there!

I’m confused by this. The article mentions steps that will empower immediately, but that looks like a plan for children to be funded for 18 years. That’s great for the next generation, but not an immediate benefit to adults who’ve been economically undermined their entire lives while also funding education for children…

After returning from my first trip to China, brushing my teeth seemed much faster without using bottled water. It does make you appreciate safe water and Western plumbing.
