Every year, my family plays it from December 24th (Christmas Eve) to the Epiphany on January 6th (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epiphany_(holiday)). Advertisers keep moving up the music start date (mid-October this year), but always cutting it off on New Year’s Day, which for us is too soon.

In PA, we also had the Johnstown Flood tax issue. To keep collecting it, some lawmakers proposed having alcohol shipped to the local state store, where consumers would have to pick up their packages.

Unfortunately, in my state they shut down all the reform schools.  Now, these kids stay in the mix with everybody else, and the whole school has to suffer.

Even more depressing is hearing them rail against any effort to raise the minimum wage or improve conditions for restaurant workers. Their most-parroted conservative talking points are that 1) only teenagers have those jobs, or 2) only uneducated/lazy people have those jobs.

Just wondering...is the use of titles (like Duchess of Sussex) finally becoming the norm? After seven years of marriage and three children, most articles I see still call Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge by her maiden name.

This is why God gave us hot sauce...to hide the taste of the few I eat every New Year for good luck.

That network lost me when they dumped Ann Curry. They also threw money at Matt Lauer and Meredith Viera, so I’m sure the folks at the desk don’t expect to stay in those seats.

Yeah. It’s just always something - sugar, gluten, fat, etc.. Recently, one friend told me about issues with balsamic vinaigrette.  Tea or tea towels are sounding better every day.

I was hoping to find items for those hosts who do not drink or follow gluten-free diets. At this point, other than a seasonal scented candle, I’m out of ideas.

When I see them together, I think of the 80's and wonder what happened to Michelle Weeks.

This makes me want to reach out to chemists. With funding, they could develop a special “costume” makeup product for people who want try this. The product should be something that does not wash off (with very fine print saying that - for very fine people).

My thought was to reduce fat in my veggies by roasting them and throwing the drippings away.  However, I’m not a fan of gravy, and your idea is less wasteful for those who like gravy.

Thank you for this. I am beyond sick and tired of the “blame Boomers” clickbait articles distracting people from the real divide - haves vs. have nots. There are so many working people in their 60s, 70s, and 80s struggling to make ends meet, yet they are being portrayed as rich, lazy, and self-serving.

Unfortunately, the TSA would probably confiscate pins like that. Once I bought a hair bun cage as a gift during a trip to Asia, and the blunt pin that held it in place was taken by security at the airport. A pen or sharpened pencil was probably more dangerous, but they wouldn’t let me keep it - even in checked luggage.

Yes, there’s a Kindle version.

After watching The Simpsons’ Treehouse of Horror XIX sketch called “It’s the Grand Pumpkin, Milhouse,” I’m gonna leave those alone.

Aye, it seems the right time to join your crew.

This is more concentrated than Boomers. It’s a specific right-wing religious groups and politicians who wanted support from evangelicals to stay in power. Oral Roberts University was founded in 1963, and it’s one example of the institutions used to hire “qualified” people.

Me, too. In the early days, I thought the Internet would get people to read *more*. Then came the emphasis on images, video, and audio over written content, and my hopes were dashed. Now, I see small children who cannot read happily watching/listening with smartphones.

Besides the fact it’s racist AF, why is America so anti-intellectual?
