God I wish I could convince some people to play that game. Even eclipse is a hard sell.

Yeah I hate to break it to you but plenty of "designer" board games cost $50 and over. Any of those games you mentioned will go for around $35 — $40, depending on your area. Hell, looking at my own collection I own several games that cost more than $50.
Just curious, what logos do you deem brilliant?
Civ really isn't an RTS.
This is a really good point. I've always thought of Retro as Nintendo, but you're totally right. It'll be interesting to see where the IPs go. I'm wondering if the relationships that Nintendo have today with 3rd parties will hurt this effort. I remember reading that article a few weeks back about how much more…
I totally agree with you. Those are all great games. But they all also come off as a little lazy. Both Mario titles are more looking back than they are forwards. Pikmin 3 seemed more like an expansion, and polishing of an old great game, and Wind Waker HD was literally an update and polishing of an old great game.
I think you're right, but there's a part of me that still hopes for the sort of success that the 3Ds has been experiencing. I know the company is capable of developing some stellar titles. I would just like them to do that on the Wii U.
Sure, but that doesn't say "we're going to be unleashing a never ending storm of must buy games like we did with the 3Ds". It sounds more like they're going to be licensing out their IPs to other companies to use. It also sort of implies that they're going to be building mobile promotional apps.
This goes to show that the big wigs at Nintendo don't understand their own most powerful asset; games.
The problem is, the story is much the same for the other major providers here. Even the small ones here are pretty terrible in their own ways. The people's darling Teksavvy might have great prices, but their support is atrocious.
It's not as bad as Canada, where bandwidth caps are the norm, and speeds are depressing.
Calling someone retarded for having a different opinion?
That looks like the download bar thing from chrome. Could be anything.
I'm not talking about 2012 and 2013, I'm talking about the entire history of the game. There have been 27 updates adding Maps, weapons, and game modes. That's crazy impressive considering that none of it cost players anything. Then there's the content packs as well.
I honestly haven't played the game very much since the hats launched, and I remember there being LOADS of new content released for the game.
Team Fortress 2 is another example.
It's probably a great place to start, engine wise. Content be damned if your plan is to port everything from the other games.
The thing is, it's not like asking for an XBone and getting a PS4. They're very similar consoles with very similar goals in mind. Over the next 3 years you're going to end up with similar game libraries, with a couple of standout exclusives. It really wouldn't be the end of the world.
I was actually on the Firearms 2 team for a while, before Firearms: Source was announced and the controversies surrounding Jonneh had come out. Once it all did, I left with a couple of other people. We were impressed with the progress they had made, especially while only having a team of 3 people. And there were…
