This was “rape” as in consensual sex with a minor. Certainly a bad thing we should punish people for, but I’m not I’m not sure it deserves felony status, especially if the perpetrator is still in high school.
The forensic analysis seemed to indicate presence of DNA ON the underwear, but no presence of semen INSIDE the underwear. Nor was there semen detected by swab (whiiich might make sense given the interim timing)
Rape kit, for better or worse, did not indicate rape.
