She guest starred on NCIS this past season, and she was heavier than I’ve seen her before. (Pot, kettle, no judgement, body expectations for actresses are brutal, she is more than her dress size, etc.)

AKA the least sexy mofos in the universe. (Says the newspaper journalist-turned-journalism professor.)

For some reason, I’m more upset by the non-Microsoft Office text editor that Pauley Perette’s using than any of the rest of it.

Space heater in the morning, desk fan in the afternoon. The struggle is real.

Chin up. My department’s searching for two full-time, tenure-track positions right now. It’s hard, but it’s not hopeless.

The couple of times I used EOS, I ended up with a rash. I thought it was just my mutant lips, and now I don’t feel so alone.

Please join me in spreading it far and wide.

Nine months later, and I still giggle to myself about this whenever Ted Cruz is mentioned. I also made this and post it on Facebook every time there’s a GOP debate on TV.

Oh my god, I just laugh-cried off all my mascara. Thank you for this.

Thank you, Jezebel, for validating my strongly held anti-Minion beliefs. We must stand together in the face of this creeping evil.

What's a rogue demon?

This was the height of Fametracker lunacy. The Jennifer Garner thread was nutso.

And now I feel like a failure as a romance guru. I was remembering Sebastian in “Duchess in Love” and “A Wild Pursuit,” but he and Esme are B plots in both books. Excellent B plots, but B plots nonetheless. However, James’ “When the Duke Returns” AND “Once Upon a Tower” have virgin heroes, and both are quite good.

All of her books are excellent. She’s a Ph.D. Shakespearean scholar, and it shows in her characters, plots and use of the language. She wrote my favorite male virgin hero, which can be awkward if handled poorly.

For paranormal historical romance, try Kristen Callihan’s Darkest London series. Great world building, strong women, hot sexytimes.

It's the best and oldest journalistic FU in the book. I like imagining the giggles in the newsroom as this was composed.

She also questioned why we chose to hang so many things rather than folding them and putting them into drawers, and she strongly intimated that my clothing took up more than my share of the closet.
