Ok so you played a 25 year old game re imagined on the Rift and your basing your opinion on that.
Every major TCG (Magic, L5R, Yugioh, Pokemon, etc.) are vastly different. Sure, each one of them uses cardboard rectangles to play, but their turn structure, card types, and win conditions aren't even close to being the same. Hex has the same card types, abilities, turn structure and win condition as Magic.
I wasn't aware Hearthstone had a five-color system for resources, an identical effect-stacking mechanic, identical deck sizes, identical turn structure, identical combat rules, and identical keyworded abilities.

The right attitude is "why torrent if you can buy it?" I've only seen torrenting arguments make any sense when they were about availability. If something is readily available to you, and you choose to torrent it instead, you are no better than a shoplifter or other petty thief.
