I use understatement as a device probably far more often than I should. I thought about J-school but instead contented myself with editing all my J-school friends’ papers. :)

I will admit I know a bit about this but I also have a PhD will my major field being public policy lol. Drug courts help lots. I interned for a drug court judge in college and keep in touch (she married my husband and I haha). Mental health treatment would also serve people. Safe injection sites and needle…
They’re in love, goddammit!
I am glad not everyone has personal ties to it. But the fact that people feel so quick to deny these issues are systemic and nearly everywhere is disturbing to me. And maybe it’s because I actually work with these numbers for a living in some capacity? But I feel like you’d have to be blind not to read or hear a…
Hey, we elected the Stephen Harper led Conservatives three times. The people of “Toronto” elected Rob Ford. BC’s Premier picked up a DUI in Hawaii and they elected him two more times.
Give the reporters credit - they’re doing their jobs the way their bosses want them to - as do we all. It doesn’t mean they don’t know how. And like it or not, this shit-show and his supporters are a news story. Please don’t blame the media - they cover what people watch.
Canada (we have our own problems, believe me).
Yes! The couple of journalists actually doing their fucking job, like Eichwald and Fahrenthold, have been all but ignored in favor of shallow coverage on whatever stupid thing Trump has said or Clinton having to use a Kleenex.
News should be like vegetables. We need them every day whether we like it or not. News for ratings and $$ proves capitalism is not the answer to every problem.
Guys, I think we got played.
Okay, but do you feel the same way about England, which voted for Brexit? Just curious, because it’s essentially the same thing. Boris Johnson is really just Oxbridge Trump.
I think he (and the nation) will be surprised by the voter turnout this election. I am going to drag my friends and family to the polls by force to prevent this country from electing Trump. I don’t think I’m alone in this. We now have a reason to turnaround this apathy in voting that has plagued our country for years.…
“The poison known as heroin has taken a strong grip on many communities not just ours, the difference is we are willing to fight this problem until it’s gone and if that means we offend a few people along the way we are prepared to deal with that.”
I was raised in a loving, relatively financially secure household. I never did drugs. I was unaware of what addiction looks like, until my brother became a heroin addict. No one really knows what it’s like until they are forced to live with it.
You obviously have no concept of how horrible opiate addiction is, not to mention the mental problems that often go along with it. “Get your shit together” isn’t viable to many people who, say, have mental problems and have been in rehab for a decade...but hey, that rehab is geared specifically to keeping as many…
At this point are there really that many people who don’t know the negative affects of heroin? Fuck, I know at least 3 or 4 people I went to high school who have died from it.
It’s in our suburb. I’m not going to give that away because then you would basically know where all of my family live. The guy who was shot was dealing and owed someone money. His family had no idea he was so deeply involved in the transportation and distribution of heroin even if they knew he had an issue.
You’re reading a “... for Hillary” where this post does not include one. Donald Trump does not do anything for anyone who is not Donald Trump.
