I remember when Kotaku used to have some integrity.

Thanks f0r getting my hopes up that we were getting the Dead Space remake.
I think you missed the point. The point was I don’t really care which one is “objectively better” because there is no such thing.
What statistic are we measuring that would determine if one show is better than the other? Does number of episodes and amount of merchandise sold legitimately make one cartoon “better” than another? Are the Backstreet Boys objectively better than The Pixies because they sold more albums and T-shirts?
It’s.... fine.
That’s fair.
When you’re critiquing something that is ostensibly art, isn’t there a strong implication that “best” means “favourite?”
Oh man, I came here to see a ranking of the worst games of all time. It wasn’t until I went to the comments, then re-read the headline that I realized my error.
We wouldn’t want anything, shall we say “unforseen,” to happen to youse. Capiche?
Sure, but there are plenty of assholes who would neither be clinically considered as sociopaths or psychopaths. Like someone said above, we’re talking about 100 people who likely have high levels of testosterone, many of whom are invovled in combat sports, some who may be taking PED’s, etc. The fact that 2% of the…
He is, and will always be David Puddy.
So from the sounds of it, 2% of the show’s contestants are assholes? That hardly seems like a show that is “steeped in controversy”.
Ha, well, like risk in that there are elements of area control, unit building, and diced based combat, but yes, unlike risk in that there are a lot more interesting and meaningful decisions.
I totally agree with everything you said, but just a small correction, MoO came out in ‘93 and the first edition of Twilight Imperium was ‘97. Pretty sure that the designer, Christian Petersen, has cited MoO as an influence.
Except that I’ve made it very clear I’m talking about TI4, which is specifically the game referred to in this entire discussion as it is the game at #5 on the BGG charts. Presumably you understand that there is a significant difference between the different editions, right? They are essentially sequels to each other.…
I really should give Mage Knight a solo play one of these days. I find it’s too complex to easily teach to someone else, and I’ve never really been a big solo gamer (If I’m gonna play be myself, I might as well play a videogame) so Mage Knight has sadly mostly collected dust on my shelf, which is a shame, because it…
And yet I stand by it. TI4 takes a long time to play. If you don’t think you would enjoy spending the day playing a single boardgame, by all means, it’s not for you. And I’ve stated that much. It is an event, and it is a commitment.
To echo what Nilus has said, it’s not a difficult game to grasp, especially if you have ever played a 4x videogame like Civ (or Master of Orion). The 4'th edition has streamlined a lot of the fidliness. Yeah, it’ll take some time but if you’re hanging with a good group, have lots of snacks (and potentially some…
I think Crypto is a dumb as the next (non-crypto-bro) guy and can take some schadenfreude from this, but umm what does this even remotely have to do with gaming?
I knew this had to be here somewhere.
