Yeah, Buzz has immense appeal for kids. My 2.5 year old was recently watching Toy Story and the scene where they first introduce Buzz with a slow pan up from his feet to his head while he hero poses caused my son to emit a spontaneous “wooooowwww...”.

But he is Matthew and Mark...

While I agree with you. You’re off by a scale of 1200%. It will be followed up 1/24'th of a second later with another frame in animation, or in a video game 1/60'th of a second with another frame.

Too soon... but also, I hate myself for laughing.

There’s a dairy farm not too far from me that makes their own cheese curds. I usually like to grab a container and just snack on em, but this gave me an idea. I won’t bother with the burger, but I’m thinking I may try to bread and deep fry the little buggers as a party snack.

I mean, murder requires intent, so I’m gonna say that falls under “intentionally rude or unpleasant.”

Yeah, mistakes happen. If the server was apologetic and otherwise polite I don’t see any reason why a tip should be withheld. The only time I would withhold or reduce a tip is if the waiter was intentionally rude or unpleasant which, luckily, is an extremely rare thing.

Yeah, I hear ya.  Hard to blame the game for that though.  That’s just people being people.  That’s why I only play with friends and round out with bots if I have to.

There’s a trick to the Ferry level that is very obvious when you stop and listen (don’t worry our group messed it up at first too...). The army guys tell you to send two people back to the ferry to plant bombs. So as long as one of you stays, and the other goes, the bots will split up. Then the two on the mainland

Yeah, why should we judge a person by their words and actions, when it’s so much easier to judge them by what their ancestors may or may not have done.

I always find that access to a retro catalogue of games is always better in principal than in practice. I love the idea of going back and playing older games that I either loved, or never got a chance to try, and, with only a few exceptions, I always put about 20 minutes into them and then never go back.  I think I’ll

Did you just open your comedian rolodex to “J?”

Heh, I’d like one, but I really can’t justify the cost of getting one when I have a perfectly good OG Switch.

Yeah, censoring that episode (which is one of their best) as well as 30 Rock never made much sense to me. Especially when the joke is that these highly narcissistic characters don’t actually understand what they are doing is inappropriate. The jokes in 30 Rock and Community were definitely not at the expense of

Yep. My wife made it once. I entered in with an open mind. “It’s just like spaghetti!” she told me. It was not.

Ya, all those board games where everyone is ostensibly on the same team trying to complete tasks together except one person is actively working against them and trying to harm them covertly and all the players periodically discuss who the traitor is and vote to kill/exile them. Ya... those ones.

It’s a fine distinction. You can’t technically patent a game mechanic, but you can patent the process by which it is achieved. Basically, WB found a loophole after years of trying and failing. Not being legal publications, most of the tech publications just put it into plainspeak and said “WB Patents a game mechanic!”

My understanding is that the digital process that enables the “nemesis system” is patent-able, but not the overlying fundamentals. In other words, if someone was able to make a game where you have unique relationships with enemies who change and grow with you, it wouldn’t infringe on the patent, as long as they did it

What would be unethical about this? Last I checked they aren’t endangered. There’s only a vague assumption that “maybe” they threw some of it away which seems unlikely. Why would anyone only filet 1/2 of a fish?
