It’s rich in bunly goodness... yum.

Seems like a good time to pull the ripcord on that golden parachute.

Damn, I thought I was one of the few that remembered that game.  That was an awesome game.

I guess the thing is, “Fun” is hard to measure in objective terms, because it’s a subjective feeling, right.  It’s basically that the game is more than the sum of its parts but that’s super hard to quantify.

So basically the BBC version of this?

I guess, since they don’t have a steel medal, she’ll have to settle for gold.

I’m not sure that this is the right take.

Honestly, I would be totally okay if nothing from the last 15 years was remade. If I want to reply a 15 year old game that I have fond memories of, I’ll replay a 15 year old game. If that capital and effort was spent on new creative endeavours rather than prettying up old ones for a nostalgia fueled cash grab, that

Yes, but generally story, level design, gameplay mechanics, etc. are the same. I’m not saying there isn’t work invovled, I’m just saying it’s less of a risk and less labour intensive than making something from scratch. It’s more of a technical endeavour than a creative endeavour.

I would suggest that remaking a game is beneficial if the original no longer holds up due to the technical limitations of the time holding it back, and/or if it would be difficult to find or play on it’s original system or a current system.

Are you suggesting that remaking or remastering an existing game takes more work that making an entirely new game?

Makes me sad to see Blizzard involved in this. I remember a time when they were the scrappy upstart PC game company that made fantastic games and really seemed to have an appreciation for their fans and the industry.

Meh, I’m kindof tired of companies trying to take the easy route to cash in on Nostalgia for games that aren’t really that old. Maybe it’s because I’m old now, but a 13 year old game still feels fairly recent, especially if it’s sitting in my steam catalogue and I can just load it up. I’d rather have a proper sequel.

That’s not that old.  I was in University when FFX came out. Now I feel old.

The first game was just so quirky and fun it made me an instant Double Fine fan.  Can’t wait to try this one.  Not gonna lie, I even enjoyed the meat circus.

There’s a Stranger Things spinoff somewhere in there.

I’ve been cutting the grass in videogames for decades.

Haha, you just won Kinjeoprady!

Haha, Strombo would be an amazing Jeopardy host. Although I think Alan Cross would be my first pick.
