I know it’s not much, but I’ve just disabled AdBlock for kotaku.com

I think he meant David Sarif’s VA, and if so he’s right, it sounds like a different person. You’re right though that Adam Jensen’s VA is back and sounds the same, which is good.

Major sadface, Ironbiter. Very sorry to see you go. I really appreciated your writing and the additional attention you brought to anime. I’m particularly going to miss your pre-, mid-, and post-season round-ups.

So what you’re saying is...LazerTag and Photon are making a comeback!?

I fear the conditions for those in anime won’t improve in the foreseeable future. I think this way because anime is huge there, and lots of kids grow up drawing, learning the production process... There are so many minor leagues too. You have doujins, which lead to manga, which lead to anime, which lead to games

I would play the hell out of a Witcher game animated like a Ghibli film. I just can’t get far into Witcher because the mood is SO depressing. The weather always looks like something ominous is coming, the world is war-ravaged, the music is super depressing, dreary, tension-filled, ugh, and the majority of the people

This is a really tough question. I can’t think of any. So my next thought was to flip the question around and ask ‘What movies would make fun games?’ Again, nothing. Right? I mean, our criticism of every game turned into a movie sounds awfully similar to the games that are made based on movies.

Yeah...no. Decline your exit interviews. Unless the only reason you’re leaving is because someone else is paying you more (which is a totally easy and not-hurtful reason to leave), then don’t say anything.

Thanks!

Hi Bash. Just wanted to thank you for these. I’ve gone back through all of them, and copied over the ones I really like. I’m using them to plan my trip!

Don’t forget opportunity cost. This thing I’m considering costs $X. What else could I buy for $X? Would the thing I’m considering buying be the best use of that money? For example, a video game costs $60. I could also see 4 movies for $60. If I’m going to spend $60 on entertainment, will the game generate as much

Oddly enough, it should be fine. Follow my thought process here. Gay, technically, means happy. That doesn’t make sense for your purpose though. Coloquially, “gay” replaced “queer”. They are both used as derogitory terms for a homosexual male, BUT, the actual meaning of queer is just ‘weird/odd/abnormal/unusual’. Now,

Wait, they’re going back to the ‘stacks of DOOM’?

Perhaps because mobile games are more ‘throw-away’ experiences. The cost a pittance, are generally pretty mindless, and usually just short-term time-wasters while you’re riding somewhere, waiting in line, etc. When it costs so little, is so fundamentally simple, and used to fill unexpected gaps between important

It’s a weird feeling, like Nintendo doesn’t even exist until the NX is finally revealed. It’s like how some developers disappear between releases, like TaleWorlds has with Bannerlord or Relic with DOW3.

Is this game going to on handhelds/mobile too? I ask because the poly count looks pretty low and there are lots of jagged edges on the lines.

You’ve also got the data-mining/privacy side of things to worry about.

I think because, coloquially, “citadel” is the word most often used to describe the largest version of a military castle. You know, it goes from fort to castle to citadel just like communities go from village to town to city.
