I felt the most touching part about Brienne's oath to Cat was actually when Cat makes an oath right back to her, vowing never to ask anything that would stain her honor, etc. Brienne seemed truly honored and taken aback. Probably my favorite part of the episode.

HamNo delivers.

Thanks for setting this up Annalee, it was a delight.

Seems to me we could put schadenfreudes on there, or is it too commonly used? I know I get a certain satisfaction out of seeing terrible movies and shows bomb in ratings and reviews. That'll learn 'em! (Except it never does)

After Temeraire's epic saga is concluded, do you plan on visiting this setting in a different time period? I'd love to see your take on an alternate early 20th century with dragons, as the invention of the combustion engine and proper airplanes become possibilities for a dragon world to deal with. Would they even

Hey, since we're posting our favorite Scotch experiences, figured I'd throw in a brag of my own. Haven't actually opened it yet, since cracking it has to be a major special occasion.

Was instantly hooked, Naomi! My question: Do you own any pets, and if so how have they affected how you write the relationship between Laurence and Temeraire?

Rest assured, attack via Godzilla, ninjas, and zombies were well prepared for.

I worked at the Diablo Canyon plant for a couple months helping upgrade their security system last year. I guess we shouldn't have overlooked the jellyfish invasion threat!

The expansive world was indeed amazing, but the actual meat when you get down to it was a bit too lean.

See, I try and avoid reading more than one book at a time, so I can enjoy a single book its fullest with my whole attention. I also enjoy physical book for the collectible nature they provide; it's like having a bookshelf full of memories.

I'd consider picking one up if e-books didn't cost the same as their paperback cousins. And really, there's just no substitute for a real book in your hands, until they make an e-reader that dispenses glorious book-smell.

I met Bill Nye once at the Exploratorium in San Francisco. He wasn't even there in any kind of instructional or official capacity, he was just wandering around messing with the exhibits just like we were! Dude loves science. He gave us a little run down on angular momentum at one of the stations. Seemed like a

Well thanks for the lesson in electrical engineering. I did in fact not understand how they worked.

I've used Possums for 10+ years now, all from my love of Homestar Runner when it was all the rage. Is it even still going?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket and have never noticed this. That's probably because I just use the pretty decent Gmail app that came with it.

Science is so fucking rad.

How about all of us that leave our computers on? Let's take Feb 2012 price of a kilowatt-hour, $0.128. With a 600 watt PSU running 12 hours a day for a year, that's $336 of electricity.
