The money went into making the car fast,. Like the others said, cars like the F40 had terrible interiors.

They weren't that bad. My cousin has a Trans Am and the dash is soft, as well as the arm rest on the door.upper half of door is cloth/leather. arguably nicer than the mustang's.

Basically everything in red is soft plastic, or anything that is painted black(dash+door tops)

I currently own one. The Dash, which goes down to about knee height is all padded, as well as the top 60% of the doors are soft touch.
