Dude, you're on Kotaku. There are so many men here angry at women for threatening their power, of course they're gonna clump together and start screaming.

Out of random curiosity... Would anybody out there be genuinely upset if there were more female characters in video games than men?
As little as Sarkeesian mentioned her critics, I sensed that a lot of the start of her talk was designed to address their criticisms. First, she seemed to be challenging claims that she thinks games make people do things. "When I say that media matters and has an influence on our lives, I'm not saying it's a 1:1…
This is so great. I love that we're moving towards implementation of the criticism. It's totally necessary to point out what's broken, but it's also very important to talk about how the broken things can be fixed. Implementation is critical, and I wish we talked about it more.
The fact that this has any stars at all is so deeply and profoundly concerning to me.
She's been warped and distorted into a toxic individual by others. She's just fine.
Oh look, someone questioning Anita's "gamer cred" right off the bat.
I'm gonna make a bingo sheet for all of the various Tropes vs Anita In Gaming that GG and its offshoots have spawned and mark them off as the comments for this article come in. That's 1 down.
She said she'd written Gamergate off, that there was no convincing them. She wanted to reach "fence-sitters," people "who are like, 'I'm interested, and I don't know if I agree with you, and I'm curious.'"
Alien 3 is a vastly underrated movie. It's a chilling meditation on nihilism from the man who would give us Se7en, and honestly it was a terrifically ballsy U-turn from the gung-ho militaristic bombast of Aliens.
I tend to take the stance that individual languages aren't a skill. Like, think about sword-fighting. Sword-fighting is a skill. To properly sword-fight, you have to learn a lot of specific techniques- stances, strikes, parries, etc. Each technique is part of the overall skill of sword-fighting, but these subskills…
I'm not a GTA player myself, but I feel like that if I were, I would rather this be the scenario than them releasing an unfinished and broken game.
Release a game with bugs - gamers get mad
Right now, the tv show is following the comic (to some extent), and Rick's line 'We are the walking dead' was taken straight from the comic. What wasn't in the comic was Darryl's reply to Rick that no, they weren't. And that's a pretty significant difference because of where the tv show is now, and where the comic…
"seems like it became an awful slog a long time ago… I sure gave up a while back." "That series has been treading water for years."
This is a vitally important quote.
Game development isn't the entire team works up until release then starts a new game. You have several teams. You have foundational development, mature development, testing, QA, etc. Each of these teams necessarily works in series.
DLC takes less time to develop because foundational…
As an oncologist, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for such a well-written explanation of why this stuff drives us crazy.
If only they would listen to the people developing on their platform.
no, they arent. and thats comically obvious to anyone with any type of objective mind who has used the windows 10 preview. its the same horseshit as ever, terrible design language mixed with questionable utility and an obsession in trying to be everything to everyone and failing at all of it spectacularly.
No character development?
I felt the exact same way by the end of the story. When she then adds "and I was seven months pregnant" I about fell out of my chair. I don't think it is illegal to think that both the companies that hired/fired the guy *and* their choices sucked.
