This is a vitally important quote.

Game development isn't the entire team works up until release then starts a new game. You have several teams. You have foundational development, mature development, testing, QA, etc. Each of these teams necessarily works in series.

DLC takes less time to develop because foundational

As an oncologist, THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for such a well-written explanation of why this stuff drives us crazy.

But, your name is wrong.

I felt the exact same way by the end of the story. When she then adds "and I was seven months pregnant" I about fell out of my chair. I don't think it is illegal to think that both the companies that hired/fired the guy *and* their choices sucked.

Probably, but at least I don't breed creatures into a shit life and make other beings suffer due to my choices.

Why is this so needlessly complicated. . . sigh.

You can afford pulling out with or without a job for christs sake.

Even though they're victims of unstable companies with unscrupulous HR practices in a high-turnover industry, it's not "victim blaming" to point out that they made poor choices themselves.

A year and a half later, we were told he would be laid off in two months. I was seven months pregnant. Our insurance would end two weeks before the baby was due.

Yes. The only people I felt sorry for in that story were the children having parents that makes so many horrible life decisions.

For having 7 kids, yeah?
Bad things happen, but it seemed like they did their darndest to make it worse. My dad was in the military, sometimes he moved months before we did. So that we could finish the school year. There were only two of us, kids. They don't cancel cable until he gets laid off, but have no savings?

Look having kids is fine. But after the husbands like 5th layoff, you continue to have MORE kids and then cry foul? The layoffs weren't their fault, by the predicament was. If they had stayed steady at 2 or 3 kids their lives would have been much easier and sustaining all these layoffs would have been much easier to

Yeah maybe they should have invested in a little birth control and not 7 kids. It is so easy to avoid a pregnancy (there are literally apps that tell you when you're good to go) there is no excuse for the kind of negligence that gets you into a 5+ kid situation.

Oh gosh, silly me

Hooray I am no longer in the grey hell on Kotaku!

Ooooh I really like that backstory for a trans character, I might steal it for D&D or a story.

A surprising, but welcome addition to the MTG universe. It's about time.

Holy shit, that's terrible.

Also, I don't see the connection to Gamer Gate. Wasn't that about journalistic ethics and whatnot?

Seriously, how the fuck do we call ourselve above any kind of bullshit and pretend stuff like the one posted isn't happening and it's affecting the general image of our community.
