Reminds me of the standard advice following a breakup to “get in touch with old friends”. Because of course the old friends are always on standby to support your ass, it’s not like they would have moved on or anything.

The “and still have friends” part is wrong. Not only will people stop inviting you, they’ll just drop you altogether. So don’t act sore when it happens.

And of course these are the types who pop up literally years later, wanting to get together. It’s very satisfying to ignore them and let them work out that it’s FRIENDSHIP OVER.
