This kind of advice is doled out as if it applies to everyone equally when in fact there are HUGE differences in how well various groups can actually follow it successfully. Gender, race, (dis)ability, class, inherent power dynamics (boss/employee, teacher/student), etc all play into it.

In Ontario, provincial campsites are like $35-40 a night. Gets pricey for a week or two family vacation. I find that sad, as it is about the cheapest vacation there is and it’s great for kids to get into nature and see stars, but some families just cannot swing it.
