Getting crushed in a car is so common in cinema (Kick-Ass, for a recent example), you really can't pin it down to a specific movie.

I'm not sure why the CDC isn't coming in and setting up hundreds of tents or creating impromptu quarantine facilities, and basically treating this like any other disease outbreak.

I don't think this show is great, but it isn't awful either. It was enough to keep me watching through this season, and that says a lot - and the Sanctuary storyline was enough of an improvement over the initial episodes that I have hope.
