I owned a Solstice GXP with the 2.0L LNF, I owned it for five years and had to clean the intake valves once. The carbon build up on the intake valves was disrupting the airflow and killing power. GM seems to have less of an issue probably due to less blow by and a cleaner PCV system.

Direct injection is a pain in the butt due to dirty intake valves that require media blasting. I’m kind of pissed that Jeep didn’t use a bigger Multiair turbo motor.

The four banger were such pigs with 33" tires. 65 MPH on level ground took forever to get up to.

It’s not about tuning but rather fluid dynamics.

Turbos compress air based on engine load. If you want lots of low end torque then you open that throttle wide open right off the line. Giving a rock crawler full throttle off the line is no bueno.

I’ve never noticed it much but I am impressed with its high speed control running out in the desert.

Stock for stock, the C5 Corvette came out and smacked the old Supra around and made it its little bitch. Then parts were overnighted from Japan and the Supra became the dyno queen that she is.

At least with a Porsche, they are engineered to go faster than 65MPH and have better cooling.

I hope you know I’m just kidding. I’m sure your mother is a very attractive and dignified lady.

Exactly right, I was steering with the throttle in the rain yesterday, it was fantastic.

I would love a Raptor, Power Wagon, or a rear locker in my truck, but with good tires, I’m fine. The overhangs prevent me from more technical stuff anyway. Honestly, my minivan was perfectly fine going to the majority of the places I wanted to get to but the truck makes it so much easier.

This is insanity, it hurts me to read it.

So does your mom.

Getting a huge amount off MSRP for a new truck also makes it worthwhile along with the lower interest rate. I don’t know anyone who has ever paid close to MSRP for a domestic pickup. We bought three Rams here at our company last year with end of year discounts. The trucks stickered at $39K and we bought them for $31k.

They are coming down now that the new model is coming out next year. Tell your wife that if you do buy the new one it won’t lose any value for 3-5 years, it’s like a savings account that comes with a free truck. ;)

Most Jalops don’t buy new, we understand that if you just wait a couple years and let 30-40% depreciation work its magic than you can buy what you want.

Almost as good as a minivan, just get the minivan.

I was actually just fine with the minivan, it was the wife who wanted the truck so badly. I’m glad I gave in because I do love having a pickup again. The camping trips are better. The usual snow storms are much more enjoyable. Towing is also a ton better with the usual V8 rwd layout. I’ve been stealing my parent’s

This is a true statement, just buy the damn minivan already.

Now playing

Here’s some Bro action... It seems to be amazingly bad off road with those wheels/tires.
