A someone who owned one I can attest to them being great cars. At the same time, I would find it ridiculous to buy a used one at these growing collector car prices.
I noticed that one as well, it would be a blast. With Mallet doing the LS2 swaps, there will be some acceptance by collectors that swapping out the motor was a good thing.
140K miles, how did the car hold up? Did it need a clutch? How were the direct-injection carbon deposits on the intake valves?
There were good turbo kits available for the 2.4L if you are interested in more than GXP power. A CTS-V rear diff would be a good idea.
I liked the Sky a bit more at the time but I think the Solstice has aged a bit better. The Sky does have a better interior.
The manual GXP coupes hovered around MSRP for years after 2009, I don’t know if they ever lost value. Looking on auto trader, there is one listed for $35K with 20K miles.
