The second plane was a Cessna 150, 1500 Ibs of not too much more than fuel and a couple pilots.

An airspace violation is a pretty weak justification to fly your fighter into a civilian aircraft.

Considering how much faster the F-16 is compared to anything else in the air, I doubt that a Cessna would be able to effectively intercept the Viper’s flight path.

Gomez!

I would like to think that there are many others out there would rather buy an Alfa over a BMW.

Based on Andrew’s thumbnail pic, I had thought he was a slightly younger Jay Leno.

$17,600 out the door for mine.

Cool beans.

Inferno Gatto!

Because there are so many F-16s variants designed and ready to go.

I’m sure there’s a penis joke in there relating to Asian men and Gorillas.

No special mention of the $120,000,000 in SAABs, Volvos, BMWs that died in the MV Tricolor?

Just wanted to leave this here.

With F-35 levels of funding I’m sure we could work out solutions. Give the Marines as many F-35Bs as they can afford. If they complain, remind them that the US Navy has the best pilots in the world and that the USAF would be more than happy to do their job. The USA may not need three air forces.

Go ahead and make the F-35B (STOVL) and maybe the F-35 C (Navy), but cancel the F-35A. The harriers are antiques and the F-18s only have so much service life, we will need to replace them.

But Doug, which of us are willing to buy new anything? That Gibby with two to three years of depreciation will be one sexy ride and she won’t be loaded with electrical gremlins of ridiculous luxury.

So much perceived value placed on rarity and prestige, it’s interesting to note that for the same amount of money you could also purchase 1,471 average cars. That is insane.

3,000 cars at an average price of $40K, that’s $120,000,000, quite the expensive “car crash”.

“On Dec 14, 2002, in the early morning’s thick fog, on its way from Zeebrugge to Southampton, the MV Tricolor, with a load of almost 3,000 BMWs, Volvos and Saabs, collided with a 1982 Bahamian-flagged container ship named Kariba, about 20 miles north of the French coast in the English Channel. Albeit scathed
