Good lord, it's worse than I thought.

Look, this list is clearly all kinds of stupid for all kinds of reasons, but "Soap" and "Ghost" go beyond "no personality." Gordon Freeman has no personality. "Soap" and "Ghost" (FYI, I rolled my eyes twice while typing those names because of how profoundly dumb they are) are like horrible, sucking black holes of

I seriously cannot believe that there are two (TWO!) characters from Call of Duty on this list. What is wrong with you people?

FYI, Gamestop has been selling new copies of Nier for $15.00 for a couple weeks now, and you can find it there used for even less. Don't let the mixed reviews scare you away, it's really underrated and totally worth the (cheap) price.

Those are some suspiciously well-groomed eyebrows, Duke.

Okay, so maybe it wasn't the best idea to fire Jony Ive and replace him with David Cronenberg.

Sadly, it looks like you are learning quite a bit about the nature of the fanbase :-/

Did Nukem really used to be one of the "big" gaming franchises, a la Mario or Halo or Zelda?

I will too—and I'll be even more surprised if Duke Nukem Forever does. People who have fond memories of Duke Nukem 3D will pick up DNF, be disappointed, realize they're now adults, and that will be it. I don't think the general game-buying public cares even a little bit about Duke Nukem, despite what you might read on

Bulletstorm is going to completely eat DNF's lunch.

Yes, I'm sure Apple will be just as eager to license iOS to Nokia as they've been to license OS X to other PC manufacturers.

Ugh, this sucks. I am trying so hard to get on board with this new layout, Gawker, but you are not making it easy for me.

"Tree hugging conservatives?"

"Tree hugging conservatives?"

"Tree hugging conservatives?"

I never thought I'd say this, but you know what Epic? Nice work on the character design.

@Druffmaul: I have no idea whether my TV is automatically upscaling or not—it very well could just be that the signal was such absolute shit over RCA that component seems amazing even when, objectively, it's a marginal improvement. Either way, I'm suddenly rediscovering all of these great PS2 games I had left

@Orionsaint: Toji is right, pick up a component cable if you haven't already. I had my PS2 connected to my HDTV with the standard RCAs for a long time, and the change to component blew me away. It seriously was almost like getting a whole new console.

@SonicRocker: Metal Gear Solid 3, God of War 2, Final Fantasy X, Silent Hill 2 and 3, GTA: San Andreas, Resident Evil 4 if you haven't already played it in one of its numerous other incarnations...

@Arggh! there goes a...snake a snake!: Or a slot in the front that turns the phone into the laptop's trackpad when docked! This seems so painfully obvious to me, I can't understand why they didn't go that route.
