Because then the author doesn’t get to write an article about how Latin/Hispanic representation in games isn’t authentic enough, but continues to dodge the issue of just getting people to make the games. No one’s actually stopping them and there would be a huge market of gamers who would gladly consume anything good…

You don’t. You overwrite it and say Latino like anyone with an education who understands that Spanish engenders nouns and adjectives, but not English. It’s just introducing gender to a language that doesn’t use it to make a point about being neutral.

Any linguist will also tell you that close-class words aren’t likely to change either, so it’s largely pointless. The last time English lost a gender was when we stopped using thou. Took a couple hundred years and we still ended up replacing it in roundabout ways.

The gender neutral term for Latino in English is just Latin. No need to even introduce gender to get upset about from anyone’s side.

They don’t need many people to buy it. They’ve dug themselves in so much that if they release again the same thing, it cost nothing, and the overheads are basically zero. This is what microtransactions have been aiming for. No work and tons of profit. You don’t even need to be a whale anymore.

They’re pandering to the meta crowd too much instead of making a balanced game for everyone. They have Disney-like visuals yet they built their streaming prestige on obnoxious, toxic players. All their balance just waters down the entire cast. You can’t carve out a niche identity as a player anymore.

As you argue on your own terms it’s definitely hypocritical, but people don’t accept your terms. That’s a hard lesson to learn I know but it’s common to watch people set things up so perfectly as to exclude other opinions on the matter.
