I agree about using a laptop on your lap. I've never had a reason to do this. Disagree about the pen, though. as an artist i see that as the main purpose for it. Not sure why they think the touchpad is no good, I was just trying it out at Best buy and it felt great, just like a laptop and better than I expected.

I just installed GiMP an hour ago actually because I needed to open an EPS file. it didn't work, I actually tried several EPS files. None of them worked. I'd rather use something that I know will work and will work well with other programs I use.

I saw this when it was announced. It's a prop replica, you're not even supposed to stand on it. Although according to the original video it does float a bit and will glide on air by itself, similar to a hovercraft or the puck on an air hockey table.
