This makes me so happy. This is what I’d imagine it’d be like going to a Jalopnik event, being able to listen to you both be fun and amazing while any social anxiety prevents me from actually participating in the conversation. So I’d kind of hover, close enough to be within earshot but far enough away that none of you

I’m excited to see your work on this, as I also am a fan of these postal Jeeps. I do have two questions, though: 1) how difficult would it be to convert to LHD? And 2) I noticed the AM General sticker in the last picture, complete with the AMC logo. I never put the two together, as I thought they were two completely

One of these (well, an ‘89 Cougar LS) saved my life. I was about 13, and sitting behind my Mom, who was driving. My Grandmother in the passenger seat, and my brother on the passenger seat beside me. We were going through an intersection, when my Mom NAILED the throttle; I was reading something (probably a car

I apologize, you made the same joke as I did, a minute before I did, and I’m deeply achained.

Well spoke-n.

Thank you!

Forgive my ignorance, but what is the correct pronunciation? Like pie? That’d make sense, like the Ei in Einstein.

I like the way your brain works. :)

That’s a better guess than anything I can think up- I was wondering if it was a socket to plug an umbrella handle into in case of rain. A clear umbrella, of course, so everyone can still see the engine.

Forgive me, but what’s that thing?

Kind of a test drive/first drive story:

Silly question, forgive me-

Dammit. First some electric four door “Beetle” and now this. Jalopnik is supposed to make me smile, daggone it.

sigh. (And that isn’t directed toward you, Jason. Just VW continuing to water down the one thing that made them great. I just wrote a big long post about it but deleted it.)

100% Agreed. I remember watching MM and thinking (I was, what, 18, 19 at the time?) that I really loved certain aspects of it. Janeane Garofalo, Geoffrey Rush, and William H. Macy in particular. But then there were aspects of it that just turned me off. Kel and The Spleen especially. Like here seemed to be an adult,

Good eye! I never, ever would have noticed that. Can we call on $kaycog? $kay, can you hear us? Why doesn’t the left hand door cut out swing out like the right hand door?

Now playing

I remember an episode of Motorweek, maybe around... ‘97? Where they talked about a US importer of UAZ...es. They test drove an orange 469, and outlined some of the modifications this company was going to do to make it US-legal; an emissions-compliant engine, 3 point belts (I think), air bags. As an 18 year old, this

I don’t know what the plural of UAZ is, but I would like two of them, the 469 and the van, which I don’t know its model number, either. I don’t know a lot about UAZ..es... except that yes, they are supercool. :)

I wondered that myself at first; my only guess is that Bee has to “suit up” to get onto/escape from a military base.
