@Dancingfrog: Except at Queen's (and maybe a few other places). There are still three women-only residences and to my understanding, at least two of the three will likely remain female-only (something to do with a family will or to that extent.)

If they call really, really thin, tall models, "pre-pubscent," then I can't wait to see what they'd call someone with a figure like this:

This *CAN* stop. 100 years ago, plenty of women had bound feet in China, but it changed. Enough campaigns, both by local women as well as foreigners/missionaries made it stop. It's because of these women that my grandmother and her sisters did not have bound feet like their mom (in fact, Po-po considered herself

@la.donna.pietra: Another child actress who is successful as a grown-up: ScarJo.

I question the percentages sometimes. There are proportionately more Asians and Hispanics who are immigrants and lacking English skills than blacks, and therefore more likely to have difficulty accumilating wealth. Combine that with the cultural "norms" that "proper ladies" shouldn't be discussing money.

According to the article, the median for BLACK women is $5, not women of color as a whole. I believe the median for Hispanic women is a bit higher (though not a by much).

Badgley Mischka for HSN? I didn't think they'd ever go that route.

@RubyPenelope: Or if they had a solo ticket. I mean, the girls could have each bought a solo one, right?

I went to my prom dateless, but still had to pay for a two-person ticket. I didn't have the guts to ask any guy (I went to a girls-only school, so we were the ones who had to do the asking) and wasn't able to split another girl.

WTFH??!!!!!

@pinquot: The problem is, a lot of people won't consider Gaby "slightly overweight." So as much as I don't like Howard Stern, there might be a legitimate concern here.

@clockwise - counter: Actually, that's what I posted on a messageboard that I frequent. Hehe

Totally Like.

A Facebook friend's status this morning read something like "it's interesting that the first woman to win a directing Oscar made a traditionally 'guy' flick"

I'm so glad that people didn't go overboard with the whole milestone business. I don't like it when people do that - seems rather vulgar.

That lady looks more like a crazy prof than a journalist...especially with that interruption. (apologies to all who are profs. I know most of you aren't weirdos).

@P.G.O.A.T.: I'm not sure if the women are insulting each other or not. In Confucius influenced cultures, it's actually polite to say that somethin isn't that nice. i.e. if you compliment someone, the person who is being complimented is supposed to respond by saying that it really isn't that nice. It's kind of like

@kardisa: Wouldn't cardio give them muscle?

@Divagatious: That might be historical. My great-grandmother (yeah, the one with the bound feet) did not shuffle rice when she ate dinner. No, that would be unlady-like. Instead, she picked a few grains at a time with her chopsticks.
