Glamour has been a bit better about size issues than other mags. They ran a piece on petites a couple of years ago that went beyond the short and skinny type.

I think many women are taken less seriously because of SIZE. At one of the jobs I had, the vast majority of women in senior management positions were 5'8" or taller. Average and shorter women tended to be in middle management or administrative jobs.

Well, it isn't like Vogue has had too many WHITE models on its covers lately, either. Magazines seem to prefer celebrities now.

@clevernamehere: When I was in high school (mid 90s), any leather bag was considered "expensive." No one carried designer anything - we shopped at the Gap. Today, these same kids have Sevens and Paige's and carry LV bags.

I remember similar shoes in the mid-1990s (chunky heels on shoes that look like REAL running/tennis shoes/sneakers)...EPIC FAIL.

@clochette: The upcoming season's requirement is that you are UNDER 5'7". However, I think Tyra is still going to focus on runway (which they shouldn't - unless they're going to be using petite-focused designers only. This isn't likely, since there are only like 5 of them around).
