Couldn’t agree more! I read Bellairs’ books every October in prep for Halloween and this movie looks like it misses the mark by a mile. I recall approximately 0 monster octopuses in any Bellairs novel.

I’ve read that you can extract poison from spiders (as an arachnophobe myself, I don’t love this). One review said “no snow” in this game, which is a huge bummer; I would have loved mountainous exploration.
