You know what would be cheaper than mitigating climate change? Invading Canada and moving everybody from the threatened regions up there.

I lived and worked in the Mojave Desert. My one way commute was 25 miles which I accomplished in 20 minutes. On the downside, the place that I lived was isolated and the place I worked was...Trona, CA. Look it up and you’ll see.

Have you read the injunction? CA’s response was lazy and lacked rigor. They threw a bunch of newspaper clippings and Mother Jones articles at the judge and called it evidence.

“Still, I guess people want an answer: If the question is when markets will recover, a first-pass answer is never.”

Good ol’ Highway 14. Fuckery in surplus.

From the top? yes, easily.

Loughner was a paranoid schizophrenic who’d been obsessed with Gabby Giffords since before she went to Congress. He’d never even seen the political PAC ad that garnered so much attention. The lack of civility in that case was the pundit class and gun controllers leaping on the NRA and the GOP with both feet.

The opposite is also true. Senate Dems, plus Susan Collins and Olympia Dukakis, voting for a bill does not equal bipartisanship.

Gabrielle Giffords, The Arizona congresswoman shot today outside a Tucson Safeway, was featured on Sarah Palin’s infamous ‘crosshairs’ map, which targeted legislators who voted for Obama’s health care bill. Remember? The map that was criticized as an incitement to violence?

We had a June back in ‘93-’94 where it rained everyday and it was overcast 95% of the time. By the end people were snapping and bitching at each other. This was South Jersey. I liked the Mojave Desert for the dry heat and the blazing sun.

Luckily it was a surface mine drawing raw materials from a dry lake. I’m not real big on working underground.

There are 1000s of mines in the Mountain West. I made a good living as a maintenance journeyman/millwright at one in the Mojave Desert.

A culture that walls itself off is a culture that no one will care about or remember in the long run.

Good. Suppressors make a firearm slightly less noisy, not silent.
